Merry Christmas, Darling // Masterpost - Niff
- Time: Christmas Day at Dinner
- Place: Westerville, Ohio, Nick and Jeff’s Home.
- Characters: Jeff Duval, Nick Duval and their families
Nicky weaved between his mom, Jeff’s mom and Brook in the kitchen, trying to check on all the cooking while getting shouted at in Greek from all directions, “You know, if you all moved out of here, it’d get done so much quicker!” He groaned to himself knowing that he’s being ignored because he’s still being shouted at as if he hadn’t said anything and he goes back to squeezing between everyone to stir pots and check on the turkey, “Mom! Can you please cut whatever you’re cutting on one of the other counters?!”
Jeffie smiled to himself as he listened to his husband being yelled at by the woman in their kitchen. Jeff slipped in, chattering happily about basically everything happening at Dalton. He looked over at Addy, who was wisely out of the others ways, having cooked her stuff back before coming over to see the family. The blonde rubbing Nick’s back softly before moving easily between everyone in the kitchen, getting his items cooked or heated up quickly and taking them out of the way of the items still being made. “Should of cooked it last night like I did, Nickles.” He teased.
Nicky looked over when he saw his husband slip into the kitchen and leaned back against the counter with his arms crossed only to get a baby carrot thrown at the back of his head by Brook. He scowls half heartedly and stand up to check everything over again, arm slipping around Jeff’s waist, “I wanted it done today, tastes better this way.” He shrugged a little and leaned down to kiss his forehead, “And to be honest if we weren’t all in here cooking we’d have nothing to do all day. This is part of the fun.” he grinned and pulled the blonde closer.
Jeffie smiled, wrapping his arms around his husband’s neck. “You saying you don’t like my food being cooked the night before? Because if that’s the case, I just won’t cook for you before school.” He mused, leaning up to give him a kiss and get reprimanded for being in the middle of the kitchen by his own mother. He turned to his mother and smiled, replying to her in Greek. He turned back and gave Nick another smile before turning to help his mom out.
Nicky shakes his head, “Now I never said that, I said that mine tastes better when I cook it on the day.” He chuckled, “Never stop cooking for me, baby.” he leaned down to meet the kiss and groaned in irritation under his breath as he pulls away with a faint smile and started pulling veg off of the hobs when the phone rings and all the women turn to grab it, “FREEZE! I will get the phone, go back to what you were doing.” He manoeuvred around the women to pick up the handset, covering his ear with his hand so that he can hear what’s being said, his entire expression turning to one of complete and utter shock as he nods and listens to the woman on the other end of the line
Jeffie blinked, turning to help out the women as Nick moves to answer the phone. Jeff hummed softly, smiling and chattering happily with the women as they worked. He looked at Nick curiously before turning back and talking with the family. He wanted until Nick was off the phone to open his mouth and ask, “What’s up, babe?”
Nicky nods dumbly, glancing over to the occupants of the kitchen, “Yes, sure. We’ll be right there..” He said, hanging up the phone and resting it back in the cradle, his fingers running through his hair as he turned to look at the blonde, “We.. We have to go, right now.” he said simply, already taking off his apron after wiping his hands on it, “I’ll explain when we get there but we have to go to the hospital.”
Jeffie looked at him in alarm. “The hospital? What happened?” He demanded, tugging on his shoes and coat. “Whose hurt?”
Nicky slid his converse on and shook his head, “No-one.. This isn’t bad, I swear it to you but we need to get moving like, now.” He rushed into the kitchen and explained that they had to go somewhere quickly then kissed each of their cheeks quickly and ran to grab Jeff’s hand and rush out of the door.
Jeffie nodded and followed Nick. He slid into the car and looked at Nick. To say he was confused was an understatement. Jeff wasn’t sure what Nick was up to but he was curious to say the least. “Nick?”
Nicky climbed into the drivers seat and started the engine, pulling out of the driveway and heading towards the hospital, “As much as I want to tell you, I really can’t because I think you’d stop functioning and I need you to remain human.”
Jeffie looks even more confused. “I will never understand you, Nickles.” He smiled a bit, shaking his head. “But I trust you so, I’m just going to go with it.”
Nicky leans over to kiss his cheek, “It’ll be worth it, baby. I promise.” He grins, speeding up within the speed limit and they arrive ten minutes later; The brunette pulls up in the parking lot closet to the maternity unit.
Jeffie looks at him curiously. “Nickles?” His eyebrows furrowed as they pulled into the parking lot. “Where are we going exactly?”
Nicky switches off the engine and turns in his seat, bouncing up and down in excitement, “We’re having a baby, Jeffie!”
Jeffie stares at Nick, openingly gaping at his husband. “A.. are you serious? W.. we’re really having a baby, Nickles?”
Nicky nods so much that it looks like his head might fall off, “Yes! She was born about ten minutes ago and her mom decided that giving her up was better for her in the long run than being brought up the way she’s living. Or that’s what the agency woman said to me on the phone.”
Jeffie leans over and gives him a deep kiss. “I want to see the baby!” He chirped excitedly.
Nicky nods, kissing him passionately, “We can then we have to sign some papers and she’s ours.” He grins, kissing his husband again, “You’re not mad at me for keeping this from you? This is what Thad and I kept sneaking out to do..”
Jeffie “I’m surprised for sure but I’m not mad, Nickles. Ohmygod, Nickypea! I can’t believe you guys did this!” He murmured, kissing him happily before climbing out. “Come on, Nickles! I want to see her!”
Nicky chuckles, sliding out of the car and closes the door to walk around the car and take Jeff’s hand in his, “You said you wanted a baby.. I thought it’d take longer than this or I’d have told you. I wanted to get all the hard parts out of the way.”
Jeffie kisses him repeatedly before, tugging him along and into the hospital. “Which way?” He chirped, bouncing up and down waiting to be taken to their location.
Nicky chuckled, pulling him towards the maternity ward, “This way, baby. I thought our parent’s couldn’t get a bigger surprise than the marriage. Now we’re gonna be parents!”
Jeffie follows Nick, smiling. “I know! This.. ohmygod, Nick! This is the most amazing Christmas we’ve ever had! Best Christmas in the world” He chirped, rambling randomly as he was pulled along.
Jeffie follows Nick, smiling. “I know! This.. ohmygod, Nick! This is the most amazing Christmas we’ve ever had! Best Christmas in the world” He chirped, rambling randomly as he was pulled along.
Nicky “It’s only gonna get better once we get to bring her home.” he smiled, walking up to the reception and explaining why they’re there; They’re lead down to the infant ward to see the baby and get shown over to the crib on the far side of the room.
Jeffie nibbles on his lip, watching the infant with wide eyes. “When?” He whispered, looking at the babies around them. His eyes locked on the crib and he slid over to look at the baby in the crib. “When can we bring her home?” He half demanded, turning to look at the nurse working and Nick.
Nicky wraps his arms around his husband’s waist tightly, resting his chin on his shoulder, “She’s gorgeous, baby..” He whispered, looking up to listen as the nurse explains that they need to sign the adoption papers and then they’re free to go, “Okay.. We’ll sign what we need to..”
Jeffie “I just want to know when she can come home.” He whispered, turning to give his husband a quick kiss. He turned to the nurse. “I wanna hold her.. ” He chirped softly. “Could I while we get the papers done? Please?” He asked, eyes wide as he looked back at the baby.
Nicky kisses him back and slips his arms from his waist as the nurse tells them they they can hold the baby while the necessary supplies are gathered and the papers are sorted for them to sign; The nurse lifted the bundled up baby girl out of the crib and held her out to Jeff with a smile.
Jeffie smiles excitedly, taking the infant from the nurse. “Ohmygod.” He whispered, holding the infant close. He brushed his finger against the infant’s cheek. He looked at Nick with wide, teary eyes. “Look at how beautiful she is..”
Nicky moves closer to slip his arm back around, half keeping an eye out for the nurse as she vanished to find the papers; looks back down at the infant and grins, “She’s perfect, baby..” Smiled tenderly and kisses the blonde’s cheek, “I love you so much.”
Jeffie smiles, “I want to take her home today..” He mumbled. “Nickles, we don’t have anything for her at home!” He bit his lip, looking back at Nick.
Nicky “Baby, breathe. We can bring her home and the nurse sad she was getting us the basics.” He says, kissing his cheek, “Then we can do a mad dash home and hope to god that our mom’s kept our cribs in a garage somewhere.”
Jeffie bites his lip and hums. “Text, Addy!” He whispered. “My cards are at home. There’s still shops open and she can pick up a few things! Just have her slide them through the back.”
Nicky nods, puling his phone out before he’s even finished talking, “On it, on it.” He said, quickly typing out a message and sending it to his sister; a few moments later his phone buzzed, “She says she’s on it, and slipping out the back door.”
Jeffie nods, kissing the baby on the head. “Okay. If she needs to, have Brook help.” He mumbled, moving to sit in the rocking chair in the corner. “Oh god, Nick..” he whispered. “I’ve never seen something so beautiful..”
Nicky nods and replies to the text, moving over to crouch in front of the rocking chair and watches the two of them with adoration, “I’ve never seen anything a beautiful as the way you’re looking at her.” He smiled and looked up as the nurse came back with a bag full of supplies and hands the paper work over for Nick to read before signing, “There’s no name down for her.. We get to name her baby..”
Jeffie bites his lip thoughtfully. “Chelsea Alexis Duval.” He answered automatically. He looked at Nick and smiled. He leaned up and gave him a quick kiss before nuzzling the infant gently.
Nicky smiles up at his husband and the infant, taking a pen from the nurse, “I love it and it’s perfect for her.” He grins and writes down their daughter’s name then signs the bottom of the document; he looks up at Jeff, “Think I could have a hold while you sign the bottom of this?”
The blonde looked up at Nick for a second, looking almost debative before smiling and handing the infant to him. “I guess.” He mused, teasingly. Jeff got up and turned to the nurse, signing the papers needed. He bit his lip, preventing himself from squealing.
He took the baby girl in he arms and cradled her to his chest, stroking his thumb along her cheek lightly as he grinned, completely in awe of her. For a minute or two, Nick was totally unaware of everything around him, focusing on nothin and no one but the bundle in his arms, “Hi, Chelsea… I’m your papa.”
Jeff smiled, turning back to his husband and new born daughter as the Nurse disappeared with the papers. He bit his lip and bounced a bit, waiting for her to return. Jeff shifted and looked around, looking back at the door as the nurse came back.
The brunette looked up to see the nurse come in and tentatively stood up as Jeff was handed another bag of supplies and then the completed adoption papers, “Merry Christmas to the three of you,” the nurse said with a tender smile, “It’s a wonderful thing you are doing. You’re free to take your little one home, just get her registered as soon as everything opens back up so she can get her shots and regular check ups.” She smiled and held the door open for them, Nick walks slowly toward the door and gives the nurse a big grin, “Thank you and Merry Christmas to you too.”
Jeff gave the nurse a nod, his eyes locked on their newborn baby and his husband. “Yea.. Merry Christmas!” He whispered, reaching out one handedly, stroking her head softly. He looked up at the nurse and smiled. “Enjoy your Christmas, Ma’am.” He chirped softly before looking back at the baby. He followed Nick, moving to get the door for him. “Ohmygod, Nick!” He whispered softly, “I just.. Ohmygod..”
Nick grinned, stepping through the door and walking down the corridor to leave the building and find the car, “I know Jeff.. I feel like I’m dreaming but it’s real and she’s real. This is real, baby!”
The blonde smiled, walking out with him. He checked his phone quickly, texting back to Addy.”Brook says Addy’s home and waiting by the back for us.” He hummed softly. “Addy picked everything up plus a couple of extra things for her.” He mused softly. As they walked outside, Jeff bit his lip, eyes flickering to his husband and the little girl in his arms. ” He felt his eyes fill up again and he smiled. “Thank you, Nickles.. I don’t have any words.. I’m so happy you did this..”
He stopped by the car, nodding, “good, everything’s ready for us to bring our little girl home.” The brunette looked up, seeing his husband’s eyes shining with tears and leaned over to kiss him softly, “I love you so much, Jeffie. I told you that all I’ve ever wanted to do was have a family with you.”
Jeff smiled, returning the kiss more that gladly. “I know.” He whispered, pressing his lips to Nick’s again. “I love you too, Nick, far more than I could ever say. He replied, putting everything into the back seat. “Someone’s got to hold her while we drive home. We haven’t got a car seat.” He pointed out softly, eyes on the pair.
Nick glanced at the back seat, to their daughter and then to his husband, “I didn’t think… Who’s gonna hold her on the way home? It’s up to you.” He said softly, leaning down to press his lips to the infant’s forehead.
Jeff bit his lip, looking from the baby to his husband. “I.. I’ll drive.” He whispered. He waited until Nick was in the car so he could shut the door and get in himself.
The brunette nodded and slid into the back seat, awkwardly moving around to get his seatbelt on then relaxes in his seat, thumb stroking his daughter’s cheek again, “You can hog all the cuddles you want once get home… I just want five minutes.” He murmured softly.
Jeff smiled, driving off once they were both secure in their seats. As they arrived to their home, he slid out of the car and opened the door for Nick and grabbed the stuff from the back seat. Jeff smiled and gave his husband a kiss, getting the door for him. “Back way so no one but Addy and Brook know we’re home.”
Nick slid out of the car, returning the blonde’s kiss, “Okay, I just hope she doesn’t start fussing on the way in, that’d really ruin the surprise.” He leaned over and kisses his husband again as they walk around the back of the house, “Who’s mom’s gonna scream first?”
Jeff laughed. “I say both at once.. She’s sleeping right now so we should be safe.. Can I dress her? I had Addy pick something up and I want to surprise you too!” He whispered, kissing him softly.
Nick chuckled, “I have no doubt in your prediction.” He paused, looking down at the newborn in his arms, “They’re gonna wake her if they scream..” He pouted with a sigh; the brunette nodded as they slipped through the back door, “Of course you can dress her, I’m not about to tell you what you can and can’t dress our daughter in.”
The blonde smiled, opening the door and slipping into the back. His hands went over his sister’s mouth and over his sister in law’s mouth. “Shh.” He whispered. Addy nodded, bitting her lip.
The brunette chuckled quiety under his breath as Brook scowed and pulled away from his hand, biting the inside of her cheek. Nick smiled down at Chelsea then looked back to his husband, “I guess my time holding her’s up. I should go check on the kitchen, make sure no-one’s arguing.” he whispered.
Jeff nodded, taking their daughter from his husband. He motioned for the two girls to follow him and walked to his bedroom. “Addy, bring me the dresses please?” He whispered. “Brook, you squeal nearly everytime a baby is near you. We’re trying to avoid waking her up and alerting everyone out there.” He said softly as he un wrapped the bundle in his arms and set her on the bed gently.
Nick smiled and made his way into the kitchen, helping to dish out the remainder of the food that had finished cooking while they were gone while avoiding the subject about where he and his husband had been; Brook poked her tongue out at her brother and suppressed a squeal “But she’s so cute!”
“And if she wakes up and cries, I’ll get you back!” He whispered, carefully dressing the infant. He smiled brightly and nuzzled her as he finished. Jeff kissed both girls’ cheeks and slid out of the room. “Brook, get Nick please?” He whispered.
Brook stuck her tongue out at him again and fixed her dress before walking into the kitchen to grab her brother-in-law away from their parents; Nick walked out of the kitchen to find his husband and daughter, he beams at the sight of them, “She looks so beautiful.. You ready to do this?” He asked, sliding his arm around the bonde’s waist.
Jeff nodded, kissing him softly as he held the baby to his chest. “Oh my god.. I can’t believe we’re doing this.” He whispered, smiling. Jeff shoo-ed the two girls back into the kitchen with their parents. He took a breath and nodded, walking into the kitchen, nibbling his lip.
Nick returned his kiss happily, “I wouldn’t wanna do this with anyone but you..” He grinned and watched the girls return to the kitchen then walked in with his husband, clearing his throat to get their attention.
“And I with you, Nickles.” He replied. He stepped into the room and looked at their parents as their families turned towards the pair. Jeff shifted somewhat nervously, adjusting the infant in his arms. “W.. we’ve got a couple of announcements to make!” He chirped softly, looking at the infant and then Nick.
The brunette smiled and picked up where Jeff left off, not giving anyone a chance to speak, “First, we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Alexis Duval.. Our daughter.” He winced at his mom’s gasp but stood firm, “The other annoncement we were planning to tell you over dinner.. Jeff and I got married in Vegas on the third of November just after homecoming. We realised that life’s too short to not spend every second of it declaring your love for the one.”
Jeff whined as the females in his house surrounded them. He backed up some, bumping into Nick’s dad. He squeaked, biting his lip. Jeff nibbled his lip, shifting at house close they’d gotten, trying to see the infant. “Niiiiick..” He whispered.
Nick shooed everyone back, “Back up, back up.. I get that this is all a shock but Chelsea was only born about an hour ago, please give them space. One at a time and everyone else can put the dinner dishes on the table.” He looked around at everyone watching him, “What’re you waiting for? Move it.” He added stermly and both he and Jeff’s dad’s started to move around the kitchen grabbing bowls and dishes aong with Brook and took them out to the extra long dining table while their mom’s stood a little way back desperate to coo over the baby.
Jeff jumped slightly as the baby in his arms suddenly burst into tears. The blonde looked at Nick frantically, holding the infant closely. His eyes filled up and he started singing softly in greek. He kissed her head, nuzzling her.
The brunette turned at the sound of crying and brought his arms around Jeff and the baby, kissing his husband’s forehead, “It’s okay baby, she’s probably hungry or still tired.” he whispers softly, rubbing his hand over the infant’s back gently.
The blonde nibbled his lip, nodding. Jeff hummed softly, rubbing the infant’s lips softly with his pinky. He smiled a bit as the baby latched to his finger. “I think she’s hungry.” He agreed.
Nick nodded, “I’ll get her a bottle.” he said, leaning down to kiss Chels’ cheek lighty then vanished to grab the bag containing formula and bottles, he heated some water up, reading the instructions on the tin of formula.
Jeff tilted his head.”Thank you.” He whispered as the infant continued suckling on his finger. The blonde pressed his lips against her head as she seemed to drift off. Jeff smiled, giving him a kiss.
The brunette quickly mixed a bottle and tested the temperature in his wrist and moves back over to Jeff, holding the bottle out to him, “You’re welcome but I think you already sent her back to dreamland before she had a chance to eat anything.”
Jeff smiled sheepishly. “Oops..” He whispered, carefully removing his finger. The small baby in his arms shifted a little and he pressed the bottle nipple to her lips. A smile crossed Jeff’s face as the baby latched to the bottle.
Nick chuckled, slipping his arm around the blonde’s waist and rested their heads together, watching his daughter feed, “Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?” he said with a soft sigh.
The blonde smiled. “Something close.” He chirped, leaning to kiss him softly. “Very cloes.” he chirped, rocking Chelsea in his arms as he fed the infant. “We have dinner, baby..” He whispered.
He nodded, stil staring at the infant in his husband’s arms, “Yeah.. I know.. We should probably put her down for a nap once she’s done feeding”
Jeff nodded. “You can go ahead and eat,” He smiled, watching the baby in his arms feeding. “Jeff hummed softly, singing in greek again.
Nick sighed, nodding, “Okay baby, don’t spend too long watching her, you have to eat too.” He smiled and kissed him softly, looking at the two one last time before following the rest of the family into the dining room.
Jeff smiled, returning the kiss. “I’m going to lay her down and come eat. I promise.” He chirped softly. He watched his husband go to the dining room before moving towards his and Nick’s room to put her on the bed, surrounding her with pillows so she couldn’t roll.
The brunette sat down at the table, getting pulled into the conversation around the table almost straight away, the hot topic being their marriage and the new baby.
Soon as Jeff finished, he slid into the dining room and sat beside Nick. He looked around cautiously for a second before turning to smile at Nick. “Merry Christmas, Baby.” He whispered, kissing him as he ignored their family for a moment.
Nick turned as his husband slid into the seat next to him and took his hand, kissing him tenderly and forgetting about everyone around the table, “Marry Chrsitmas, Jeffie. I love you.”
Jeff smiled, kissing him happily. “I love you too!” He chirped, eyes flicking towards the rest of their family.
He grinned, looking around the table, “Uh.. Oops?” he smiled awkwardly
The blonde laughed, kissing Nick again. “Merry Christmas!” He chirped to the others, smiling happily.
Nick laughed as everyone chorused Merry Christmas back to them then his mom opend her mouth to say something, “Wait, dinner first or we’re never gonna get anything eaten and we’ll answer whatever you want to know about everything. Jeffie, would you like to do the honors of cutting the turkey?”
Jeff smiled and stood up. “Gladly!” He chirped happily. He picked up the carving knife and hummed softly, carving up the turkey. As he worked on the turkey, he paused, frowning. “Nickles! Chelsea..” He chirped, his head snapping up to look towards their room. “She’s awake.”
The brunette started handing dishes of trimmings to everyone and served himself some before passing it across to the next person; His head shot up at the sound and he slid his chair out, “I’ll get her, baby. She’s probably not used to being on her own, she can come in with us.” He smiled and kissed the blonde’s cheek before going into the bedroom to collect Chelsea and somethign to sit or lay her in while thye eat.
Jeff finished cutting the turkey and nibbled his lip, waiting for his husband. He served out the food to Nick, sliding the items around the table to everyone as he served his and Nick’s food.
Nick re-entered the dining room cradling Chelsea to his chest with the baby rocker in his other hand which he sets on the ground by he and Jeff then slipped his daughter in, making sure she’s secure before sitting down and stroking her cheek with his finger, “Sorry, that thing’s a mission to set up on handed.”
Jeff smiled turning towards the baby. He slid from the table and sat on the floor with his plate humming softly. “Sorry, Nickles.”
Nick chuckled and turned in his seat to rest his foot on the one Jeff had just vacated and shook his head, “Nothing to be sorry for, baby.” he smiled, eating his food after passing more dishes around the table.
He smiled sheepishly, eyes on their daughter as he hummed softly. “Erm.. Sorry, everyone..” He shrugged, continuing to sit by the baby girl.
Nick smiled turning to his mom when she asked about the wedding and immediately started to gush about how he’d planned it all in only a couple of weeks, eyes flicking back to his husband and the infant on the floor.
Jeff remained on the floor, moving to hold the baby in his arm, picking at the food with his left hand. He nuzzled the infant, smiling brightly. “I’m so happy!”
He rolled his eyes at their parents comments on the private ceremony and looked over to Jeff, “I’m glad you’re happy, Jeffers. That’s all I’ve ever wanted for us..”
“If it makes you feel better, Mom, we can have a ceremony so everyone can be there!” He offered from his spot on the floor.
Nick nodded his agreement and continues stuffing his face, covering his mouth to talk, “Yes we really should! We wanted the family around us but my surprise was to whisk him away from all the stress at school.” he shrugged
Jeff smiled, nuzzling the infant in his arm. He took a bite of food and cradled the babe in his arms. “Nickles has a habit of out doing everyone.” He mused.
The bruntte glanced over at Brook who was currently choking on her drink as quietly as possible and smirked, “Well, I try to out do everyone. It’s just the Greek in me.”
“I can’t and won’t comment that because our family’s here.” Jeff muttered. He looked up and grinned. “So aside from our wedding and new daughter, what’s new?”
“You don’t have to comment, you’re pretty vocal about it in the bedroom.” He murmered, chuckling a little and looked around the table to Brook and Nat, Brook shaking her head the slightest fraction, her eyes fixed on her plate, “I’ve got nothing else to share.” He said quickly, “We’ve covered all the important things that happened to us.”
Jeff stood up with Chelsea. He hummed, walking around, rocking the small baby in his arms.
Nick smiled, eating some more of his dinner and sips his glass of water, “Babe, I can do that, you should sit and eat.”
The blonde looked at him curiously. “Are you done eating?” He chirped lightly, eating a little as he held the infant.
He shook his head, “No but we can at least swap over for a while. I eat fast enough to get half a plate down in five minutes.”
Jeff hummed, leaning over to kiss him. He slid the infant to Nick and grabbed his plate. He sat beside Nick and smiled, eating some of his food as he watched his family.
The brunette put his cutlery down and took the baby in his arms. Holding her to his chest, he played with her hand, smiling tenderly at her, “Hi baby girl.” He cooed, adjusting her in his arms to eat some more of his food.
The blonde hummed happily, chatting with Addy and their dads. He turned towards their moms, talking with both women as well.
Nick played with the infant, smiling and talking to her softly; He looked up to see his mom smiling across the table at him, “Go on, you know you wanna ask to hold her. I’ve been waiting for it.” He chuckled and beckoned for her to walk around the table and gently hands Chelsea over to her, sitting back to watch them.
Jeff smiled, watching. “Mom, you can hold her next. “He chirped lightly, looking at Nick’s mom.
Grinning, he slipped his arm around his husband’s waist and kisses his cheek, “Best Christmas ever.” he whispered, turning his head to kiss the blonde softly.
“Best Christmas!” He agreed smiling. He gladly returning the kiss with a smile.
He chuckled, kissing him again as everyone bustled around the table to take turns holding the baby.
Jeff whined softlly, giving Nick a look. “She’ll get sick if everyone keeps hanling her..” He squirmed through the family.
“Baby, relax. They just want to hold her once and then they’ll give her back to us.” He smiled softly waatching his family.
The blonde huffed lightly, fingers twitching as he squirmed in his seat. “What if she gets sick..?” He whined softly, wanting to scoop her up and run off to their room.
Nick placed his hand on his husband’s shoulder, “If she gets sick we’ll take care of her, that’s what we’re here for.” He smiled faintly, leaning down to kiss him tenderly, “We can’t coddle her all the time but if it makes you feel better we’ll keep a hold of her once everyone’s said hi.”
Jeff blinked at the sudden, kiss. He hummed, pulling him closer. “She’s only like two hours old.. They get sick easiest when they’re newborns..”
The brunette smiled into the kiss, “I love you baby.” He said softly, arms sliding around his waist, “If you want me to I’ll ask for her back.”
“I love you too..” He sighed. “No.. I’ll wait..” He replied, leaning on his shoulder.
He nodded, resting their heads together, “Okay babe, if you’re sure.” He said softly, keeping an arm around him as he ate the last of his food
Jeff gave a half smile, leaning into his husband with a sigh. “Yea.” He nodded a bit, watching their families. “I’m sure..”
Nick smiled, kissing the blonde’s forehead, “They all look so happy.. It’s nice.”
“Yea..” He smiled, nodding. “And tomorrow I can go shop and buy a bunch of things for her right?”
The brunette smilled, brushing their noses together, “Yes baby, we can go shopping tomorrow. I can’t wait.”
Jeff perked up and grinned. “Yes!” He pressed his lips to Nick’s and smiled. “Perfect!”
Nick laughed, “How’d I know I’d get that reaction from you?” He grinned, kissing him softly, “You’re perfect, in every way.”
“I love spoiling people?” He chirped happily. Jeff jumped up as Chelsea started to cry. “Chelsea!” He mumbled, frantically.
He nodded, “I noticed.” He watched the blonde jump up from his seat and stood too. “Is she hungry or is it something else?” he asked, hovering off to the edge of the family, not wanting to crow the baby any more than she already was.
Jeff held the infant to his chest, checking her diaper. “She’s wet.” He chirped softly, taking her into their room. After changing the small baby he laid on the bed and held the little girl on his chest, humming softly as he rubbed her back gently, trying to sooth her. He closed his eyes and held her close, momentarily drifting off himself as the babe in his arms fell quickly to sleep.
Nick nodded, watching as his husband disappeared from the room to change the baby and started clearing the table of dirty dishes with Brook and Addy’s help, insisting that their parents stay seated and have a glass of wine.
The blonde sighed, sitting up slowly as the baby shifted against his chest. He opened his eyes and smiled faintly, moving to lay her down. Jeff slid off his bed and slipped from the room. “Sorry.. I kinda fell asleep holding her..” He chirped softly.
The brunette turned from the dishwasher as the girls helped him to clear the plates off and losed the machine, “Hey baby, it’s okay. All we’ve done is clear the table and convince the parental units to stay sitting down. I’m just about to heat up the pumpkin pie.”
Jeff nodded and smiled. “Okay.” He whispered. The blonde leaned over, kissing his husband. “So what now while we wait?”
Nick smiled again, arms wrapping around his waist to kiss him back, “We can stand and bask in the fact that we’re now parents?” he laughed softly.
The blonde smiled, “Let’s go do that in the shining glory of our daughter then.” He chirped, kissing him slowly.
He chuckled, “Okay baby, I think everyone’s peroccupied for now, we can go watch over the little angel.” He smiled, leaning to meet his husband’s kiss tenderly.
“Yay!” He chirped, smiling as he kissed him back with a small moan. “Let’s go!” He said nearly dragging the male with him.
